I first took my mother flying just over eight years ago on the day before (or maybe day after, I can’t remember now) her 70th birthday. Last Wednesday 14th August I had the opportunity to do it again, this time on her home turf on the Isle of Wight.
Mum was a bit anxious at first as we were clipped in and waiting for over five minutes whilst the wind did funny things on launch – building a wall should be the easiest thing but for some reason it wasn’t – it kept swinging around. However once we were off and mum had settled into her harness she loved it…
We flew for an hour and had an easy landing despite the increased wind – quickouts are brilliant things!
Can’t wait to do it again…
